People track their number of steps. Now dogs can get in on the action

STEVE INSKEEP, HOST:

Good morning. I'm Steve Inskeep. Exercise tracking apps like Strava are handy to track our human exercise routines - or our failure to exercise. But why should we have all the fun? Strava is partnering with smart dog collar manufacturer Fi to bring the technology to the canine market. With the app and collar, your dog's step count, exercise route and other data will be available in the palm of your hand. Why? It's MORNING EDITION. Transcript provided by NPR, Copyright NPR.
