Phillies' Valdez Joins Babe Ruth In Record Books

RENEE MONTAGNE, host:

By the 19th inning, the Phillies had used up all their relief pitchers. With his teammates snickering, second baseman Wilson Valdez took the mound. Valdez proceeded to pitch a scoreless inning for the win. The last player to start the game in the field and win on the mound was Babe Ruth in 1921.
