Cars used to be something you just drove. Now you have to be friends with them, as well.
Our last word in business today is Toyota friend.
Yesterday, the Japanese carmaker unveiled a new social networking service to connect Toyota drivers, dealers and the company. It's geared toward electric and hybrid cars. When up and running, drivers will be able to receive messages on their mobile phones like: your battery needs charging, or time for an inspection.
The service is being rolled out next year, but only Japan. American drivers will still be on their own for a while.
